If this sounds familiar, good memory. I originally wrote this as an article in Virus Magazine over a year ago. But now it exists in vlog format as well. =)
Top 7 Reasons Growing Up Now Would Suck
They have started paying select contributors, unfortunately, I haven't been selected yet. But ninety percent of the other users I've written for and collaborated with are currently being paid. Connections come from regularly commenting on other's videos, or by cold emailing some of the people you enjoy watching and having a good idea. If I notice the same person commenting on a number of my videos on youtube, I'll go watch their videos. Most of the people above were just really into the script I sent and so they agreed to work together even though they didn't know me.
* I jumped up one spot last night. ;)
It means that in the category of Guru users (those who post how to/DIY videos, etc) there are only 87 others with more subscribers than me (out of the millions of users YouTube has, quite the accomplishment). YouTube ranks a lot by subscriber and/or view count. The more people who subscribe to a channel (if you subbed to my channel you would see all of my videos as I upload them in your Subscription Center, making it easier for you to watch the people you enjoy) the better YouTube thinks that channel is. And so it makes a Top 100 of All-Time list so others can be exposed to these channels. They also have lists for "Today," "This Week" and "This Month."

This video of yours caught my attention.
Also this:
I've written for and/or co-starred in my vids with dizzyblonde777, IanCrossland, mikeskehan, MysteryGuitarMan, Nalts, NutCheese, Greg and Woody from HBO's RunawayBox, smpfilms (Mr. Safety), Spricket24, sxephil, Hank Green from vlogbrothers, Buck from WhatTheBuckShow and xgobobeanx.
Have they started paying contributors yet? How are you getting all of these connections, for services rendered?
If you are getting paid, can you employ me in some way, I'm poor and jobless? That last part is factual and not part of the question.
And what does #89 most subscribed to of all time "Gurus" mean?
