so, this will come as no surprise to anyone who either knows me or the best american comics series, but I decided a little while ago to step away from the series after this next book gets done (so, like, the book that'll come out in a year and a half won't have my name in it). entirely coincidentally, this decision happened right around the same time as i was watching the early episodes of battlestar galactica season 2.5 and really becoming concerned about the cylon situation.
now, in late august of 2006, i did an interview with Jonathan Messinger at TIME OUT CHICAGO
(http://www.timeout.com/chicago/Details.do?page=1&xyurl=xyl://TOCWebArtic...) which finished with me saying, "When I’m done with Best American Comics, in however many years . . . I’ll be like, ‘I have to deal with these cyborg issues!’ ”
so i just wanted to state here for the record that this is all a total coincidence. I am not actually leaving to take on any cylon or cyborg issues, I just said that as a joke, and then it was printed, and then i found out how terrible the cylon problem is. i mean: they look like us now! and they have a plan! but i don't really see that there's anything i can personally do about it right now.

I symapthize. Those damn Cylons, SOMETHING MUST BE DONE!
