Milkshake Blog

When I was growing up, I freakin’ loved milkshakes. Whenever we would go to Burger King near my house, I would get a strawberry milkshake. I always used the straw and would slurp from the edges, where it had started to melt. My favorite bit was at the very end, when the milkshake had melted enough that it was almost completely liquid.

One day when I was in college, my roommate told me he was going to some fast food joint and asked if I wanted anything. I told him to get me a strawberry milkshake. “No fucking way,” he replied. “I’ll get you a milkshake, but it has to be either chocolate or vanilla.” When I asked why he was being such a fascist Johnny Buzzkill, he said “Strawberry milkshakes suck because they don’t even taste like strawberry. You have to either get a chocolate or a vanilla. And really, chocolate is the only flavor that taste decent.” “Whatever, you asshole,” I replied. “Just get me a chocolate one.”

Miley Cyrus' Vanity Fair Scandal

NEW YORK - "You get the best of both worlds," Miley Cyrus sings in the theme song of her hugely popular Disney Channel show, "Hannah Montana." It's a reference to her character's secret double life as both a rock star AND a normal schoolgirl.

Offscreen, though, this 15-year-old phenom is starting to learn how hard it really is to have the best of both worlds: as a G-rated Disney superstar AND a real-life, growing teenager with an eye on a long career.

Cyrus, whose fresh, easy charm and down-home southern appeal have catapulted her to an astonishing level of celebrity, especially in the past year, found herself having to apologize Sunday for some entirely un-Miley photos in Vanity Fair magazine.

They're called a "payload-carrying nanotube delivery system"

In recent news, I'm unashamedly anticipating seeing "Iron Man" on Saturday. Maybe it's all the explosions. I do feel that I was wrongfully denied a childhood grooming towards blowing up neighborhood animals with quarter-sticks of dynamite and later on, foreigners, through the scope of a rifle firing explosive depleted uranium rounds.

Or...it could be all the comic books I insist on reading. Corruption, violence, extended adolescence, blah blah blah...the fact that it's basically all rubber science even I could make up and good-looking Californians is secondary, of course. I really, really don't know what it is.

Whisky - water of Life

Yes, I love whisky.

Here is article:

Whisky can be made from different types of grains that include malted rye, wheat, maize, barley and malted barley. Whisky is derived from the Gaelic word for water. In Ireland (1495) the first record of whisky was found. Which was believed to be distilled by the monks.

Whisky types: Whiskies are mainly produced in the grain growing areas of the world. Whiskies differ in alcoholic content and quality.
Whisky - water of life.

Scotch whisky: Scotch is a whisky that is generally distilled for 2-3 times and should be matured for at least 3 years in the oak cask. The age is decided between distillations and bottling.

I've decided to join up with an ad agency

I'm starting a new weekly column at the Anti-Advertising Agency. I'll be ferreting out advertising's presence and impact on culture, and presenting resistance strategies. I'll be posting on Fridays.

My first column went up yesterday, with exciting news! The Great Facebook Ad Debate of November 2007's been resolved! Lookery, the company behind the legal sticky-wicket, racked up its billionth impression weeks early. It seems they've failed to monetize social networks after all. But that doesn't mean they ain't still breakin' the law . . .

Read it here: www.antiadvertisingagency.com and bookmark the column here: http://antiadvertisingagency.com/author/anne.
