They're called a "payload-carrying nanotube delivery system"

by Costacide | 05/01/2008 | in iron man | movies | not battlestar galactica but still badass | random

In recent news, I'm unashamedly anticipating seeing "Iron Man" on Saturday. Maybe it's all the explosions. I do feel that I was wrongfully denied a childhood grooming towards blowing up neighborhood animals with quarter-sticks of dynamite and later on, foreigners, through the scope of a rifle firing explosive depleted uranium rounds.

Or...it could be all the comic books I insist on reading. Corruption, violence, extended adolescence, blah blah blah...the fact that it's basically all rubber science even I could make up and good-looking Californians is secondary, of course. I really, really don't know what it is.

OH GOD WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME?

I have been eagerly anticipating this for a year and a half, ever since Downey got cast. Iron Man was my favorite superhero as a kid because he was a rich asshole arms-dealer drunk. If you go by the previews it looks as if Favreau got it exactly right, which no comic book movie has to date. Also SABBATH!

I think that SPIDERMAN 2 did a decent job at a comic book movie, though, maybe if I rewatched it I would consider it less effective. Considering how bad the last one was might effect my opinion as well.

IRONMAN looks great, though I reserve judgment until we see how much cornball humor is tossed in.

Tho, NOTHING will convince me that the CRYSTAL SKULL will be worth watching, ever!

That's because he's not fighting Nazi's in it. Plain and simple.

I never got into Iron Man. But I think the first Conan movie was perfect. just the right amount of violence, humor, purple prose and homo-eroticism. I guess sword and sandals epics are more easily adaptable to the big screen than superheroes and shit, though.

I liked IRON MAN.
Robert Downey Jr. did a good job playing it straight. Though I was disappointed that there was so much time talking and not so much time fighting. Still.
