I've been going out to a lot of bars and clubs in NYC for a long time now and came to the conclusion that....I LOVE this city. I've meet, interviewed and hung out with some great people. I recently interviewed, Jason Blank, from the band "Zero 8's" which are amazing. This band has great music but a sad following. It seems to me that sometimes the punk scene in NYC is dying....I hope I'm wrong. Anyways, I used to work for a magazine (which I won't name because they fired me) and I thought I would post my interviews and pics here...just to get it out of my system and maybe have some people read my Blog. This Friday, as my first interview that will be posted here will be with, Romeo Platonic, from the underground punk band "Strictly Platonic" www.myspace.com/wearestrictlyplatonic. This band has gathered a very huge following and are a very amazing band to see live.
New York Underground!
why did they fire you?
other than that, I'll definitely check out those bands. I'm always down to support those who kick ass live.
I show up for pop-punk bands... I guess that makes me a dork as well.
Teenage Bottlerocket anyone?

The "NY scene" looks like it's dying because venues are drying up, there's almost no all-ages stuff going on (my friends throw DIY all-ages stuff, but all the way up in the North Bronx), and everyone wants to go to clubs and listen to stupid shit, when great bands like the Steinways and Unlovables and The New Dress barely play because the only people who show up for pop-punk bands in NY are their friends.
And dorks like me.
