yes, I saw that. They'll need paramedics at the doors to cope with the suicide attempts.
I don't know this is true or not, but you know the sound of the children howling for their mummy in the middle of "The Kids"? Allegedly, the producer got that effect by miking up a room, gathering his own children in it, and then telling them their mother had died. He let them howl for a bit, and then went "oh no, only joking". You wouldn't get Sting doing that.
you don't "owe" me anything, but if you want to burn stuff for me, that's cool. i have a ton more stuff i can burn for you...misha mengelberg, pharaoh sanders, archie shepp, cecil taylor, peter brotzmann with han bennink, the art ensemble of chicago, don cherry....
did you know that alice and ravi coltrane are playing in michigan soon? wish i could go....
i made a screen with the back pic of the albert ayler "spiritual unity" record, if you want a shirt, let me know what size you want.
i dont have a cd player right now (or a dvd player or tv for that matter), so i will wait to bug you about a list of things i want. have you heard the bennink "nerve beats", also, do you have any paul bley or annette peacock?
that's great that you're making t-shirts...i'd love one. i'm big and fat, so i'd probably take either a large or an extra large.
haven't heard "nerve beats", and i don't have any paul bley or annette peacock. i've only heard of bley, never heard his stuff...i'm not familiar with peacock at all. i still have much to learn about this style of jazz....
my younger brother very generously gave me--as a belated birthday gift-- albert ayler's 10-cd box set on revenant records. it has this crazy interview on one of the last discs that he did for some scandanavian radio station, where he compares himself to the beatles. let me know when you get a cd player, and i'll go pick up some blank discs...
I was in San Francisco last week and I think I learnt where J Church got their name from. It was quite exciting.
I opened this thread to say The Replacements - Unsatisfied and then I saw Daisy was listening to them as well. She is one of the good ones.
