Oh the joys of childhood

by L0ve1sAmiXedTaP3 | 10/03/2007

Do you ever wish that you could just go back in time to the days when life was so much simpler?? When you got naptime, and free snacks and juice. When boys and girls alike had "cooties". And when you wanted to show a girl that you liked her, all you had to do was pull her hair, or throw something at her. When you didn't have to work and your mommy and daddy did everything for you...I know I do. I don't wanna grow up. I wanna go back to pre-school when life was just easier.

That's all for today.

This was supposed to change when I got older?

Divorced parents, day-care, roommates' kid who bit me, bug infested apartments, not having enough money for snacks and juice...

Sure, who wouldn't want to go back.

If you weren't trapped in a black-hole of infantalia, you'd really want to go back to your early twenties.

Well, minus the divorced parents and bug infested apartments. (There was only one bug infested apartment.) I kind of hated childhood and didn't really start enjoying life until high school, or maybe even college. My childhood diary is painful to re-read. Kids can be fucking cruel and daycare was horrible. I'd never go back.

No. Pre-school sucked. School sucked. Post-school is sucking slightly less. I would, however, like to go back and chill in the womb occasionally. Those fetuses have got it made.

My childhood was AWESOME. Wouldn't trade it for all the pizza and beer in the world. Yeah, there were some non-idyllic points, like everyone has, but GOTDAMN was it fun.

Later, you sad sacks!

We only remember what we want

I still remember the haunting jackal smirk of the asshole who used to taunt me in 2nd-grade with clarity, and how it used to make me feel.

And thoughts of the blue bucket that I spend awesomely muggy nights with collecting bugs makes me weepy.

I think my late teens and early 20's were okay, but it all could be neatly described as a period of filthy dorm rooms and apartments enveloped in a fog of marijuana smoke. And I really don't miss any of that bullshit.

Pre-school was fun until some shit bag wanted to play Power Rangers and since we didn't have a TV, I had no clue who the hell these ranger people were. All the kids did the whole point and laugh routine. Little kids are evil sometimes.

Well see, I wasn't even ALLOWED to watch Power Rangers, or Looney Toons, or Tom and Jerry....there were more too...my mom thought they were too violent..so I'd go over to my dad's apartment and he'd let me watch Beevis and Butthead, and Looney Toons, and Tom and Jerry, and all the shows my mom wouldn't let me watch...my dad left us before my first birthday...great guy my dad...

Yep. My best friend was a girl, until she moved away after first grade. Then the other girls stopped talking to me because I was a boy, and the boys wouldn't hang out with me because I went to a macho Catholic school and I hated sports and used to hang out with girls. it was a year before I had any more friends and another before I had any at my school. Good times.
