YOU ARE SUCH A TEASE!!!!
Don't post that heading and not give details.
Also, post pics or it never blah blah blah.
I bet it was for being totally cute and hugging cute girls at rocky horror dressed in a ripped up prom dress and reading adorable poetry!
I'm pretty sure it's only a pepper-sprayable offense when it's you in the ripped up prom dress groping unsuspecting alterna-teens and reading them your "adorable" poetry outside the art house cinemas, r.john...
I'm guessing it was a particularly rowdy Halloween themed Critical Mass ride. But I guess cops don't really need a "reason" to pepper spray somebody these days...
Look here, Air Mac!
Last ime I got peppered sprayed it was in a cuddle huddle at the Milwaukee Furry Fest. And that skunk just got overly excited.
Cops are good peoples.
its your criminals that are baaaad.
Okay, okay I'll tell you what happened:
A bunch of my friends had been invited to do a show in the basement of a dorm house at Ferris State University in Big Rapids (shitty college city about 45min-1.5hrs from Grand Rapids). The guy who organized it had gotten the show approved and several members of the bands had emailed back and forth with the woman in charge of approving events (this is important for later). A bunch of us GRap kids show up and things are already going bad. Most of the people at the show are people from Grand Rapids (either in bands or their friends) and what few college kids are there really don't like us. The first band starts playing. After the second to last song, an RA tells the band that circle pits are no longer allowed. So off course my friend gets on the mic and says "so apparently we're not allowed to have circle pits anymore, so let's circle pit the fuck out of this place". The set ends and looking around the room, it's obvious that the only college people that are still there are the guy who organized the show and the people in charge of supervising the dorm. The second band starts and in the middle of their set it's announced that "swearing" is no longer allowed. A fight almost breaks out between a couple skins and 3 college kids, but a bunch of us step in between the two groups before anything happens. They finish and a third band starts. They play a really long set, towards the end of which we find out that there's a cop upstairs. My friend M goes upstairs to talk to them to let them know that the event had been approved and that we hadn't done anything wrong/hadn't even been asked to leave. Apparently the cop calls the woman in charge of approving things and she denies any knowledge of it. The fourth band had set up by this time and then the cop came down. A couple members of the band had a bit of yelling back and forth with one of the snottier RAs, and then the cop stepped in and started yelling at people to leave. People started loading out equipment. On his way out, M yelled something like "fuck your authority" or "fuck cops" and was then chased by the cop. 10-15 of us chased after the cop. Another cop showed up and they were throwing M around on the ground and being really rough with him. His girlfriend, E, started yelling at them to stop because he has a really bad back (scoliosis I think). They didn't listen to her and she just kind of lost it and ran over and tried to pull M from the cops. They grabbed her, threw her against the wall with one of the cops having his hands around her neck. Those of us who were there were standing close, but out of arms length, yelling "stop" and saying that we just needed them to drive back to GR and we would all go home. A third cop showed up and started screaming at us to leave and to back up. 4 of us at the front were like "what are you talking about, we are back." and just generally trying to plead with them to let our friends go. The newly arrived cop pulled out the pepper spray, sprayed a girl I don't know and a guy named E directly in the face. He sprayed me, but I was lucky enough to react quickly so I didn't get all of the direct spray. Another friend of mine got sprayed in the mouth and on the face. A few minutes later they arrested E who was sitting on a curb rubbing his burning eyes. Most of the cars heading back to GR, excluding one which stuck around to bail everyone out of jail. M was charged with disorderly conduct, E (girl) was charged with assaulting an officer, resisting arrest, disturbing the peace, and MIP (she blew .007, since this is about what's in a breathmint, it's unlikely this will stick). I'm not sure what E (boy) was charged with, but I got the pepperspraying officer's name and badge number, so hopefully that'll help him fight it.
I think this anti cop shit is really just blaming the victim. It is commonly known that qualified applicants are often denied careers in law enforcement on account of not being dumb enough to confuse rapists and murderers with punk rockers.

out now
badness.
i must say, i am left wondering what the circumstance was.
