Starting sometime late Thursday evening, my internet connection speed got noticeably slower than usual. It's the same throughout the day, and I've never had this problem with this ISP. Before Thursday, I used to be able to watch any video on Youtube, now about a third of them won't play. I use Firefox version 2.0.

I'd try
unplugging your modem & router (if you've got a router), waiting about 45 seconds, then plugging the modem in first, then the router. That sometimes helps. If that doesn't work, call your ISP--they may have some trouble they didn't tell you about.

Check your system for spyware and background memory hogs.
Make sure to clear your Firefox private data caches regularly and often.
Also, sometimes YouTube just runs v-e-r-y slowly. I think it must be due to heavy site traffic. Even crappy video uses a lot of bandwidth. I have the same problem sometimes even when other sites load fine.
