John: Did you end up cancelling the table, or should we bring stuff to have out?
edit: okay, not cancelled.
Mindy: Did you end up sending stuff to my friend's house for us to put out for you?

if you have stuff, take it.
I did not cancel the table.
Shit, I wish this month had not blown up in my face.
John: I can put out old stuff, if you want. Just scan them or let me know which ones to scan (I think I have a lot of them down here with me) and I can print up some copies off my computer. They won't be great quality, but they won't be as shitty as some kinkos copies either.
If I can find the originals, I'll probably have some prints of my photos printed up and my friend will hopefully have some art to sell. You should overnight a sign, a couple copies of blister packs, and some Dead Beat promo stuff to my friend's house.
I can, maybe, get to the post office tomorrow at lunch.
best to resend it.
the box O zeens will be in MI tomorrow after NOON.
So be there to get it.
My Attorney mailed it under duress this morning.
um. maybe you could wait for it?
Why do I keep reading this thread? Why?
Tear ducts are for jerks.
Miranda,
SOOOOOO how did it go? Highlights, low lights?
Also, take that box of zeens back to AZ with you and distro as you will.
Awesome.
I knew there was a reason I kept reading this thread!
hairy ballz is a song I wrote,
it is only to be performed in
museums and hotel rooms.
Dundundundundun zines!

This is what happens when John gets lazy about sending promotional materials:

Detroit being all pretty:

My super adorable bestfriend on the bus back to G-Rap:

p.s. no hairy balls singing, just hanging out, bed sharing, and drunkenly wandering the streets of Detroit with new friends and other cool people.
those are super awesome.
Love the sign and the flying poopchunk.
I am so disappointed that box did not get there in time.
Plus selling zines?!!
WHAT A CONCEPT!!
What's funny is that I sold about $20 worth of zines and spoken word cds (hey Mindy, I sold a copy of undeciluna for $2, so I'll buy you a cup of coffee next year or something) and 5 people asked to take the sign home.
I had March just hold onto the box of stuff in Grand Rapids. So I can bring it along next year, bring it to PDX if I make it, or distro it in Grand Rapids after I move back in a month.
I know right!?
People love that damn comic book. And the cliff hanging endings!
The original plan was to make that series into a paperback graphic novel. But you know...
while there will be a batch of new zines out by then, there is little possibility that I will be able to float the cash.
these next few months are TIGHT!
Miranda, how much is a table? Perhaps we can work something out. We should have a new zine and comic book out by then. I may be able to cover the table for LBP if R.John will allow my stuff on there too.
wow, jeff, that would be super generous.
I would love to see what you are putting out.
Is it your stuff or other folks?
No problem. How do we want to work this? I can reserve the table for LBP, or R.John or Miranda can and I'll send a check. Just let me know.
I'll try to get my ass in gear to finish up this new zine. It is a new venture with a friend focusing exclusively on this sad little town we live in. We hope it starts something. Plus I've got a collection of appropriated comix (Family Circus) that I think once made AEM giggle just a little bit. I'll see if I can't get them all finished by the beginning of August and have them in the mail.
miranda...bring a gallon of water because the water at rest stops is very expensive. Try not to sit next to the bathroom. The last time I took a bus to Cleveland I had to sit in the very back seat...and would have to move my legs everytime someone needed to use it. It's because I'm one of those laid back people who will be the last person in line cuz i hate sitting in a line for an hour....so be one of those people who lines up at the gate 2 hours in advance just so you don't have to sit in that seat. not only is it stinky but the very back seat doesn't recline.
use your bag with extra clothes as a pillow. bring some tunes to listen to and a book or two...try to sleep as much as you can, maybe bring some drugs that will help you do this. hopefully you will sit next to some cool people who will talk to you a bit. i still have fond memories of donnie and doyle, my backseat buddies from a couple years ago...they made my shitty seat a little more enjoyable. try not to sit next to kids unless they are old enough to behave.
K, I'll be sending you pums tonight or tomorrow (as soon as I figure something out) with details and we can work out stuff then.
Mindy, I'm one of those people that puts my sleeping bag in the line and then wanders off for two hours. I end up with a decent seat, and don't have to stand around waiting for it. Bringing tons of water is a good idea, but I have sympathy for whoever ends up sitting next to me; I have the world's tiniest bladder.
Katie, It's August 10th-12th.
p.s. An addition to the AMC pictures. This is me at the crash space looting the bodies:

Check is in the mail.
And I've got $10 on Miranda punching stranger in the head for coming on to her while she crashes at their house.
don't the PDX punks have crash spaces?
they did in previous years.
beside what is in that box i sent to MI, I will be able to shoot you some copies of the new ones. Not too many though, as I will not have that many. Enough for a respectful table, i suppose. Seein your zine and KPUNK's JUNK will be there a'too!
also....leaving your bag in line is probably an ok idea anywhere but the chicago greyhound bus station, so you are probably ok doing that. ...but then again i guess if you left a big heavy box of love bunni crap anywhere no one would steal it.
John, they don't have an official crash space. There's a messageboard to arrange crashing/rides/etc. but it seems mostly dead. Also a little creepy.
P.S. You need to send me some of your older stuff. Or give me permission to make copies of it myself if you don't want to bother. You don't even have Uncertain Nervous Systems listed on lbp.com, which is sad and should be corrected!!
Thanks. In that picture it reminds me a lot of:

I've since shaved it because I got sick of having to re-dye it every week. I'm bald headed now.
The bus out of GR rarely ever goes through the Chicago station. I'm not sure if it will this time, but if it does I'll make sure to leave the Love Bunni junk in line and carry my sleeping bag.
I havent updated the love bunni site in forever and ever because I want to redesign it before i do that. And that is just an excuse to be lazy.
I am thinking of making a message board over there too. Tho...I dunno.
You can copy whatevers you want to.
I might be able to send some of the old stuff, but I lost my free hook up again and as I said, strapped for the cash money until after Oct.
Well I get back from Palm Springs on August 2nd, but I don't have a place of my own to offer right now. We should definitely hang out though.
Also (if I'm still invited) I could probably make it to the wedding in October. I have schmucks to visit in the midwest anyway...
thats where you are wrong aaron.
the midwest is HUNGRY.
HUNGRY for NEW LIVES to CRUSH and DEVOUR.
Hey Kpunk, the PDX kids say they don't think they've received your check yet, but to make sure it hadn't already been cashed by them. Do you know if it has?
I bought my bus ticket today. Yay! I'll be getting in on the evening of the 10th and leaving on the evening of the 13th.
Katie, sorry, I didn't mean to blow you off. We should definitely hang out. The conference is free (they only charge to table), if you're interested. I'll pm my number your way.
The bank says the check hasn't been cashed, but it was mailed out well over a week ago. Is there a contact/phone number you have for PDX that I can check in with? if so, just PM it to me. Also PM me an address where I can send you these zines (1 zine, 1 comix). I won't weigh you down with many copies.
send at least 20 of each thing.
Not that I am the one carrying the shits, but still.
Also. It might be okay to send them to the microcosm folks. But Miranda should contact them about that or picking them up.
I am going to try to get some photocopies made of the new stuff, this weekend.
pm sent.
John: he/you don't need to send stuff to the microcosm kids. I'm going to have a suitcase just for zines. My stuff I'll just carry in a backpack. No big deal. Do you still have the Byron Center address, by the way? That's where you should send things.
I don't know if I'll be available those nights, but I'll try to make it. Oh, and when you get to town, make your way to Beaverton and I'll buy you dinner at my friends' pub.
Also I have free long distance while in Palm Springs, so anyone who wants to bitch at me over the phone, send me your number.....
PDX says they've got the check. Everything is cool on that end. I'll send 20 copies of the zine and maybe a dozen of the comix. Of course, we've got to finish the damn zine first.
Sure, of course.
I am working on getting Shabbytigger's zine relaid out and printed, my friend rachel turip queen's done, and will send a batch of those with the 7 generals.
this thing is in aug. right?
I just forked out 2400 for a fucking wedding photographer.
