Discuss.

Me: The theme from "Ghostbusters", for two days now. Specifically, the "rap" part:

"Too hot to handle, too cold to hold, call the Ghostbusters and they're in control"

Oh, man. I could go on AND on.

I've had Poison's "Unskinny Bop" stuck in my head for, oh, about a year now. The bad thing is, is that whenever I get a song stuck in my head, I'll pluck out words from conversations around me and inject them into said song.

For example...

Coworker: Hey, did you update that file?
Me: UUUP-DATE that FILE-ILE-ILE!
Coworkers: STFU!

When I have nothing to interject, I usually just sing "My stinky butt! It blows you awaaay! My stinky butt-utt-utt!"

was that in the original ghostbusters theme? or do u mean the song at the end of ghostbusters II? anyway, the one at the end of GB2 i had stuck in my had for quite sometime awhile back. it was terrible.

also, i've had the Perfect Strangers theme stuck for awhile...wasn't a good week for me that time.

It's the fucking kid songs that get stuck in my cranium and make me want to reach for a crowbar.
The worst is "Mairzy Dotes." Thanks to this thread, I'll be humming it for the next 3 months.

APPARENTLY IT WAS GHOSTBUSTERS II

Strangely enough, this song got stuck in my head yesterday, even though I probably haven't heard it in 17 years.

Courtesy of Ghostbustershq.com:

"On Our Own" -- by Bobby Brown
(written by L.A. Reid, Babyface, Darryl Simmons)

If you want something done, you gotta do it yourself

Yeah, I think this is gonna be another one of those funky ones
Heart, soul, hit, hit, dance

If I was you
And you were me
You'd wanna be winning
If you want something better
You're gonna wanna give your all

Cause I believe
So much as we
You know I'm not kidding
If you feel the same as me y'all
You're gonna wanna take the ball

chorus:
Now I found out that nothing is given
Don't know where the cards may fall
All I know is that we've gotta get it
We've gotta make it on our own

Well I guess we're gonna have to take control
Oh! Oh! Whoa! Oh!
If it's up to us, we've got to take it home
Oh! Oh! Whoa! Oh!

Now can't you see
That all you need
To be a go-getter
Gotta make your own decisions
Gotta go for what you know

There comes a time
In our lives
You wanna be bigger
You gotta keep, keep on pushing
You gotta learn to take control

chorus

Well I guess we're gonna have to take control
Oh! Oh! Whoa! Oh!
If it's up to us, we've got to take it home
Gotta, gotta take it home
Gotta, gotta, gotta take it home

Heart, soul, hit, hit, dance

Too hot to handle
Too cold to hold
They call the Ghostbusters
And they're in control

Had them throwing a party for a bunch of children
When all the while, the slime was under the building
So they packed up, regrouped, got a grip, camera quick
Grabbed their proton packs on their backs and they split

Found out about Vigo
The master of evil
Try to battle my boys
That's not legal

Oh! Oh! Whoa! Oh!
They're in control
Oh! Oh! Whoa! Oh!
Hit, hit, ya know it
Oh! Oh! Whoa! Oh!

I said they're in control
Oh! Oh! Whoa! Oh!
Hit, hit, ya know it
Oh! Oh! Whoa! Oh!
Hit, hit, ya know it
Oh! Oh! Whoa! Oh!

Well I guess we're gonna have to take control
We got, we got, we got
We got, we got, we got
If it's up to us, we've got to take it home
Too hot to handle
Too cold to hold
They are the Ghostbusters
And they're in control

Well I guess we're gonna have to take control
Gotta, gotta take it home
Gotta, gotta take it home
If it's up to us, we've got to take it home
Gotta, gotta take it home
Gotta, gotta, gotta take it home

Oh! Oh! Whoa! Oh!
Owww!
Oh! Oh! Whoa! Oh!
Hit, hit, ya know it
Oh! Oh! Whoa! Oh!

Oh! Oh! Whoa! Oh!
Owww!
Oh! Oh! Whoa! Oh!
Hit, hit, ya know it
Oh! Oh! Whoa! Oh!

Too hot to handle
Too cold to hold

And they're in control

I heard that annoying Edie Brickell song last week and it is still stuck in my cranium. I refuse to type the title or the lyrics. You can thank me later.

Most Americans won't be aware of this one, but I get Take That's "Back For Good" stuck in my head often.

Really...

The Ghostbusters films are great underrated classics, both of them. I could watch them anytime. In fact, I may have a whiskey and Ghostbusters marathon in store for myself tonight.

I'm not aware of too many things
I know what I know if you know what I mean
D-do ya?

and

Religion is a smile on a dog
etc.

and

Choke me in the shallow water
Before I get too deep

That one?

I mean, the one with this video?

!!!

Every single goddamn Christmas song that the world is bombarding me with right now. I'm gonna deck somebody the next time I hear 'Deck the Halls.' They are all annoying as hell -- except for 'Baby, It's Cold Outside' which is a great song about seduction.

I love that song.

Dude, the other day, I woke up, got myself some frosted mini-wheats, sat down, turned on the TV and THAT VIDEO WAS ON. (VH1 Classic!) It made me sad to think how the video era killed off all the great-but-ugly bands like that.

I love the Bobby Brown song that started this thread.
