Flames at US government building

Flames and thick black smoke have been sighted at a US government building in Washington DC.
The Eisenhower Executive Office building is located near to the West Wing of the White House and houses members of the president's staff.

Emergency vehicles have arrived at the scene and firefighters have entered the building to tackle the blaze.

It is too early to tell what the cause of the fire is. The entire building has been evacuated.
