One is a fleeting experience although a very nice and relaxing one. The other is permanent but kind of a sad item to own. I wish I could lease a bong.

Such an alternative historical timeline would have invariably eliminated the need for the grateful dead. Which might have lead Garcia to start a pseudo-facist party in the USA and risen to power with the likes of neo-cons like Leary and Hoffman. Ugh. Fan fic awaits.
Harry Turtledove? Anyway, I think the most likely outcome would be that they would not have conquered so many places. Because, see, they would have been more mellow and not so uptight. So there really wouldn't have been much of a British Empire to collapse and make room for HItler in the first place.
sure, take the geopolitical view.
Me, I was just thinking that a bunch of stoner's would have mandolin parlor games whereabout the jam band folksonomies would have developed into a fully articulated musical subculture, thus sparing the world the horrid traveling acid show of the Garcia Band.
You will still hate it, i am sure of that, it is chock full of terribleness. Sure, I guess, in some pressed shirt manner it really sticks it to the MAN at the end, what with the pagans and the twisty bendy freekout ending. and the naked dancing chick. But really, why subject yourself to the Rolling Stones' hair do of Lee? Or the over-sex frumpiness of english tarts trying to seduce the Patrolly?
Its wretched.

I'm surprised it's that recent. You may have to dig deeper, Archæologist of the Impossible.

They call that art deco?
I like the Weeping Gorilla though. I wonder if it will make any more sense now that I fuck around with tarot decks. Maybe this next week's project will be a re-read of the Mars novels and Promethea. As opposed to doing my taxes. I like how most of my efforts lately are geared towards becoming more of a crazy person rather than less of one.
We need to come up with some kind of a Mystic System that allows astral selves to do all the work while we reap the rewards. I had the ugly realization a short time ago that I understand how slavery could be pretty sweet if you were on the right end of it. The Founding Fathers weren't exactly about to rock the boat either.
I would say that it massively benefits from revisitation except that I never gave it a fair shake in the first place -- originally I read about 60% of the issues randomly and I can now fairly say that that makes about as much sense as consecutively reading issues #9, #11, and #3 of WATCHMEN in that order and then saying "I don't get all this Alan Moore hype." Main flaws are that some of it is just a little too cute, Moore doesn't do U.S. vernacular dialogue very well and he is actually a little too didactic and overly explicative -- I am all like, "Man where is the grumpy vaguely allusive dude of yore who expected you to figure it out for yourself." And yes it is a lot more enjoyable if you have been fucking around with tarot decks in the interim.
