In TRACKS he is wearing a digital watch with turquoises embedded in it. It is possibly the most singularly mid-late-'70s tchtochke I have ever been privileged to witness. Where might I find such a device. I searched eBay for "turquoise digital watch" and "dean stockwell watch" and came up empty.
A Mysterious Hipster (Dean Stockwell)
I couldn't find one for you either. The only thing I could find was this:

Probably Stockwell has the only such wristwatch and he wills such ita into being. I like his half-explanation in this film: "I always seemed to wind up back in Albuquerque but I could never get off the train. There was always an old woman, standing there at the Super Chief near the station, selling jewelry . . . there's nothing like the quality of light you see in New Mexico. I'd never seen anything like it before."
I think my original intent with this thread was to talk about how Dean Stockwell always plays a mysterious hipster, but subsequently realized that many of the wise-acres who populate this board would take great pleasure in pointing out to me roles in which he portrayed characters other than mysterious hipsters. So I derailed myself into talking about kitsch wristwatches. But I maintain that the Platonic essence of Stockwell is that he is a mysterious (not to say unscrupulous) hipster. The more old Stockwell & Hopper flix I watch the deeper is my appreciation for BLUE VELVET. Lynch distilled the Archetypes into nigh-pure forms and in so doing rescued them for the delectation of a newer generation.
You need to watch all the Dennis & Dean movies from back when they were child stars and THEN watch BLUE VELVET again. This is what I am trying to do. It is tricky in some aspects; f'rinstance, Dennis was basically MIA for most of the '70s and only appeared in a few Euroconsortium movies financed by Brazilian exiles in Paris. And I STILL haven't tracked down a copy of THE LAST MOVIE, to my eternal shame. I am not as good at stealing copies of almost nonexistent movies from the Internet as some people seem to be.
not digital, but I bet these turkeyfuckers could/would make you one.

Nerd Yorke is for pussy fags and wannabe joos.
Personally, I would rather mudslide down some Iowa hill looking to land in some thick thigh lady type just lounging and frolicking in the amber waves of grain. Parlay that into ripe and luscious!
They do a lot of snickering, giggling, and tittering. Jaglom is all, "I don't even remember this. We are probably just going to be quiet and watch it. Dennis, you remember this? Who is that guy?" and Hopper is all, "Woah, check it out, it's Dean in the background there." I am getting an idea I should watch Jaglom's other movies.
