I can play El Churcho
Greg is totally el Niño
and stoopid johnny gets to be el Santo
I want to remake A BULLET FOR THE GENERAL
I don't waste my time defending Morrissey or the Smith to people who don't get it. It is not worth my time. And the people defiling Morrissey and/or the Smiths usually have had limited exposure to both and are often just displaying knee-jerk reactions grounded in some macho posturing. I'm not saying that is true in your case because I don't know you. But if you think Glen Danzig is smarter and more talented than Morrissey, than I must treat your tastes as suspect.
I never said that Glenn Danzig was smarter or more talented. I do like his voice better than Morrisseys, though I will definitely concede that Morrisseys lyrics will commonly hold deeper meaning than Glenn's (especially his Misfits lyrics haha).
I am in no way defiling him because of macho posturing. True, I am a masculine, large male, but I am in no way homophobic, and I make all attempts not to judge based on someone's looks.
Perhaps my original post was a bit harsh, so let me try to say what was on my mind in a more civilized manner. I do not understand the obsession with Morrissey that many people have. I find his music all a bit bland for my taste, and from what I've heard about the man, that he is quite self-obsessed and a bit of a narcissistic fellow.
Is that better?
I was just going for humor. I think Danzig and Morrissey are equally gay and they both have spawned legions of copycats who may or may not be gay themselves. I just think it is funny that a member of one obsessive fan base can't understand the obsessiveness of another fanbase just because it has a pompadour attached to it instead of a devil lock (being a spikey pompadour when all is said and done. That being said, I like the Misfits better than the Smiths. I like a few Smiths songs. I like pretty much all the misfits songs. I never listen to either anymore.
Hair has nothing to do with it. I listen to as much rockabilly as I do horror punk, and have fashioned a pompadour for years now. But that has nothing to do with this at all. What I am wanting to know is what so many people's obsession with Morissey is. Especially those people that listen to all this music that seems completely different from any style Morissey is related to, and then they just add Morissey in. It seems to me some people just use his name to seem cultured...
Clever man ; ) One worse thing he could have done than that, which is telling some kid half his age to shut the fuck up on a forum just cause he is old and tired. I realize I will be old and tired someday too, I'm not oblivious to that... Unless I get in a car accident or something of the sort.
because you are stupid and don't know when to stop jabbering like a halfwit. There is hope for you, though. You may wake up to the fact that all this window dressing is covering up a void and you don't need denim jackets and patches and studded belts or hillbilly or psychobilly or billybilly. You don't need any of that shit. You just need to accept Jesus into your fucking heart.
comments that I'm not making, I'll be sure to look out for those. As for dying young, doubt that will happen from not keeping my mouth shut. As for the clothing, once more, I know it doesn't define me. Is it the hair that does that now ; ) haha
When white people were smearing shoe polish on their face and tap dancing on watermelon rinds, singing about how lazy and carefree their negroid lives were, they had no clue they were racist. It's not really the comments that you make; it's the comments you don't make. You never say, "I love gays." You say, "I have no problem with gays." As if you were the magnanimous one by putting aside sexuality as a qualifier for your acceptance. Do you have love for the racist gays or the homophobic NAACP member? Have you ever ripped out the veins of human necks until they were wet with life?
I'll bet. Wait, what did you play again ; )
What did I play? I wrote the songs man. Remember "Dusts of Fury?"
the sands of time are a lovely latina/ Covering all in a sallow patina
I nearly forgot how it went.
Let's rock those jams.
