This is the thread in which I confess to liking the new REM album. Your abuse and scorn will follow below.

I like it, too. In fact, I like most of their albums.

I can't listen to anything part Automatic for the People.

I just can't.

I couldn't listen to anything past GREEN, though occasionally I'd give a new album a listen to confirm they no longer did it for me. Then I heard ACCELERATE a few weeks ago and, as a friend said, it was 1986 all over again -- only faster. It's their best album since DOCUMENT, easy.

Once they got to that

'Out of Time' era I lost interest. Mostly likely this was because all the then preppie rich kids were into them. At this point it's hard for me to tolerate the idea of Peter Buck being a rock star let along shake the taint of that whole story about him attacking a stewardess.

As I've stated here before, I can't listen to Out of Time at all. I prefer to stick with reconstruction of the Fables. Even Document and Green are to hit or miss for me to listen to except for occasionally.

Has Stipes' head gotten bigger or have my eyes just gotten smaller?

-Whatever their single is for "accelerate" I heard it on the radio last week, and even before hearing Stipe's voice, I recognized the song as being REM, and I liked it, however, it didn't seem like they were breaking any new ground.
