We'll Inherit the Earth: A Tribute to the Replacements

I dig this comp a lot.

Awesome bands include: The Ergs, Off With Their Heads, Blotto, The Urchin, This Is My Fist -- also includes Against Me! and The Draft, though I think they under-perform given their marquee status.

The Queers turn in a really impressive version of Satisfied. I haven't listened to them in nearly 10 years and assumed they were still churning out Beach Boys covers.

Favorite song is J. Page's version of Left of the Dial , which is, on the whole, just pretty good -- but last minute of the song is amazing.

Also includes a lot of filler.

Really?!?

It received such strong negative reviews over on eMusic, I just passed it by.
OK, I'll take your word for it and give it a shot.

I wrote off tribute albums

I wrote off tribute albums ages ago, because invariably, they leave me disappointed. I don't want to hear the Queers doing Unsatisfied. I don't, I don't, I don't.

I mean, I wouldn't buy the thing. But I gaurantee that both of you would love the J. Page song.

I thought the same thing about the Queers, dude, but it really rose above their usual schtick.

I downloaded the J. Page song and it was just OK, until that last minute. Nice.

I was just listening to 'Pictures of You' the other day and thinking someone needed to do a good cover of it, kind of like Dinosaur Jr. re-invented 'Just Like Heaven.' But maybe somebody already has.

I should admit I'm not, with the exception of a few songs, a huge replacements fan.

"Meh" comp, to be honest.

Against Me!'s cover of "Bastards Of Young" sucks. The Cardinal Sin's version was better. The whole thing was OK at best.
