I produce and host a hardcore radio show and podcast called DISSONANCE on community station 97.5 FM Radio CPR in Washington DC. Every show features a different guest from the DC punk community as an interview subject and guest DJ.
Last Friday my on-air guests were Darryl Jenifer and Sid McCray of the Bad Brains (Sid was the BB's original singer before HR, the guy who turned them onto punk rock). I also invited Ian MacKaye on the air, so he dropped by Radio CPR studio and did part of the interview. Also joining us was Nick English, the Bad Brains' former manager and the guy who turned them onto reggae, who hadn't seen Darryl in 20 years.
Darryl and Sid were back in town (Darryl lives in NY, Sid in SC) to film a documentary about the Bad Brains. They brought their film crew with them and shot part of it on my show in the studio. The movie should be finishing up filming soon and the filmmakers hope to have it ready for screening at music and film fests sometime in 2009.
