Ok, this is a continuation of Sincerely Affair.

I do not know what to do, I broke up with my boyfriend, but this one guy can't break up with his. He is honestly confused on his feelings. I don't know. But what I am saying is that I need help with this WHOLE situation,

He doesn't want to be with her because of the fact that he believes that she deserves better, someone who can cheer her up, etc.

And he still loves me.

I have NO idea how to take this situation, so can someone help me like at all?

I'd like to offer some aged and sage advice here, but I'm a little confused about what exactly is going on.
Could you break it down for me again?

Details

Ok, here's the details.

1. This guy additted he had feelings for me, but he was dating my best friend.

2. We talked and I was trying to help him with his issues. We ended up talking for 8 days straight

3. I finally invited him over to my house, hang out a little

4. My best friend found out, and she's still angry.

5. I know I am horrible to do this, but I learned from it, and I'd love to resolve it.

But I don't know how.

Amber, my next question is, do you have feelings for him?

If you don't have feelings for him, try talking to your best friend to explain. If she's not willing to listen, then you can know that you tried your best to resolve it, but she wasn't meeting you halfway.

If you do have feelings for him, then I will say, welcome to the world of sticky adult situations in which someone is going to get hurt no matter what you do. The way I look at it is this: if you both have feelings for each other, then you owe it to yourselves to explore those feelings. Life is messy. But, what it comes down to is that feelings are important and can't be ignored. Emotions don't follow rules, of friendship or relationship. I can quote my friend Sarm here and say "Your friend is just going to have to understand, or else the friendship won't survive."

This advice is totally different to what most people would tell you. Society tells us that we should ignore feelings, hence the reason people stay in miserable loveless marriages for 50 years because, "it's the right thing to do." Fuck that.
I've been divorced, and I can honestly say that I loved it. I'd get divorced every day if I could. It is incredibly liberating to follow your feelings and feel free for a change.

Follow your emotions.

Ben Ponders...

Wait, how's the gay guy figure into all of this?

Not curious,
