Dump the world's garbage on Mars. It is too expensive to just dunp garbage in space. So we fund it under the auspice that we are trying to cultivate life on Mars. We dump our garbage there and see what happens. If life exists thanks to our garbage: success. If not, we got rid of our garbage at least.
