Dear Jesus, please make my social anxiety go away

Seriously I've had enough and I feel like vomiting. Going to parties where you won't know half the people, and are irritated with what the person throwing the party has become, are the worst. Probably.

I'm sure I'll realize this tonight 15 minutes before I spew on every coked-out asshole in attendance.

just don't go

Social anxiety ends when your self-imposed sense of social obligation does. You may have no friends but you will be a free man. I know you won't take my advice but I am handing it out anyway. Because I am absolutely right about absolutely everything.

You're right, I can't take your advice. I'm a guilty-feeling person. Guilty-feeling people are more likely to be bound by social obligation. I'm trying not to be.

In this particular case I wasn't going to go, but then I got a phone call from another friend who said that he and his girlfriend would not go if I didn't go. I felt somewhat flattered and weak, so I said I would go. Too bad for them, as I may vomit on them as well for being proximal.

I'll tell you you're right when I have stomach ulcers and am puking up blood in a few years. Then you can laugh at me and say "I told you so."

You should take his advice.

Why do something so disagreeable?
I feel so much better since I started saying "no" to these things.

Listen to Greg and Daisy, other people aren't worth getting sick over.

Plus, Jesus doesn't give a rat's ass about your social anxieties.

And I don't actually intend that in a meanspirited way (tho' you will probably take it as such).
My point is that if you really want to deal with these anxieties there are productive things you can do, but Jesus ain't one of them.

Unless it is Jesus Rodriguez, cos that dude has got some sweet pharmaceutical skills, dig?

You have friends AND you can bring yourself to go to parties?

Dude, you're like, fifty steps ahead of me.

my advice

Take no council. Every one is equally ill.

My secondary advice, that I fail to follow myself, is to take an interest outside of yourself and others--something you enjoy doing and can do in public without being arrested, like-minded people will gravitate to you and you can talk about a mutual interest and if the person isn't an asshole, you have a new friend or a girlfriend who can only get off when she holds her legs straight and together.

That is pretty long run on sentenct

But I had two hours of sleep last night, worked 31 hours in two days and smoked two joints and drank two beers and it's two am on a saturday night. Plus I drank a bunch of red bulls earlier, so allow me this run on sentence.

do a myspace advanced people search for white men 48 - 68 five miles from your zip code. Count how many have profile pictures of themselves without shirts on, count how many are straight.

Repeat until suicide sets in.

Huh. I might be interested and I may actually be working in Chicago on Friday. I'll probably just let you know on Friday if I'll be going.

I may be up for having a beer and awkwardly standing in a corner looking at art.

thanks for coming out greg

thanks for coming out greg and josh!

i didn't recognize greg when he came in...i didn't know he was going to be there, so I was confused at first. He must be one of those people who gains 10 lbs when they have their photo taken because he looked thin to me. he talks kind of quiet.

also, one of my friends said he was pretty cute ;D

Drunk Driving

My aunt died when a drunk driver (in Canada) hit her. It happened just after I was born so I never knew her. At a family dinner, I was drunk and high and I think I let it slip that I drive after drinking. Or maybe I was just very drunk. And my uncle told me, "It's people like you who killed your Aunt Cindy."

the tony clifton thing was

the tony clifton thing was pretty crazy. basically he drank a lot of whiskey and sang a bunch of songs, had a couple almost naked girls shimmying around, told a bunch of tasteless jokes, poured a pitcher of milk on a bald guy, changed his suit about six times, had a marionette version of him come out when he passed out drunk, had members of the audience sniff one of the toy horses that his dancers had been riding, kicked a bunch of audience members out (one for booing sinatra and i think the other one for calling one of his girls a slut)....i'm probably missing some stuff but you get the idea. it went on for over 4 hours.
