[[I'm new, whoop-de-doo]]

I'm just cutting into this crowd, so here I go.

It seems these days that "emo" is more of a fad, and my friend and I have had this conversation zillions of times.

Frankly, we're both tired of it.

Cutting yourself?
Retarded

Depression?
Mhm, do you take fucking meds for that shit, or is it just a game?

Black and neon pink?
Cute, but please don't overrate it...

Wow. I've never really looked at it like that before.

Uh huh

Goth is a lot different though, and I don't even like using these damned labels, but it's just a forum subject that I could use, because I wanted to vent on this.

It's not really any different at all, because you are remarking on the cultural aspects, as opposed to the style of the music.

These are sweeping generalizations. When you are dealing with mental illness, things aren't exactly cut and dry.

Despite the current fashion for people to say that these acts of self harm are a fad, people mostly don't start cutting themselves unless something is wrong. And must one be medicated in order to be authentically depressed?

Hm...

There's a biter.

I must say that you do have many points in your schpeal
Yes, cutting yourself is a mental issue, but where I come from people actually just do it for the attention, which is wrong itself I admit, but a besides the fact of cutting yourself, it's more of faking depression.
I don't know, I guess I was a little harsh on the issue of this, and I didn't anylize it like I should have, but it was a ventage mostly, something on my mind.

But I don't know, I'm not much up for labels, and in all honesty, to answer your questions, I suppose no, but the petty depression shit that people put on for act, is what I am talking about.

I think you guys are being too reactionary. Clearly Amber has put more thought into these issues than we have, and I think we should hear her out.

If you think depression and the color black are NOT A FAD but rather are HERE TO STAY then YOU ARE CRAZY.
