Was Joe Jackson the poor man's Elvis Costello, or was Elvis Costello the sell-out Joe Jackson?

There are several songs by joe Jackson I like, but Elvis Costello is the far better song writer. Not to say that EC isn't a sell-out, because he is. Damn, he has made some awful shite. But that doesn't take away from the fact that he has buckets of talent -- most of it is just misdirected.

And Joe has the distinction of producing the coolest three-sided record ever. Trying doing *that* with a CD.
