is that he worked the copyright right into the graphic. Like, the person that made it was all "This is SO FUCKING BADASS that I'm going to make sure no one else can say THEY made it!"

Actually, our fucking badass friend might be disappointed to learn that they've forgotten to include their name in the copyright info. Oops. So pretty much anyone can say they made it after all. Who will dare to take this challenge? Paul? It does make you "Very Happy."

Correct Form For The Copyright Symbol

The notice for visually perceptible copies should contain all the following three elements:
1. The copyright symbol © (the letter C in a circle), or the word "Copyright," or the abbreviation "Copr."

2. The year of first publication of the work. In the case of compilations or derivative works incorporating previously published material, the year date of first publication of the compilation or derivative work is sufficient. The year date may be omitted where a pictorial, graphic, or sculptural work, with accompanying textual matter, if any, is reproduced in or on greeting cards, postcards, stationery, jewelry, dolls, toys, or any useful article.

3. The name of the owner of copyright in the work, or an abbreviation by which the name can be recognized, or a generally known alternative designation of the owner.
- Example: copyright © 2002 John Doe

The © or "C in a circle" notice or symbol is used only on visually perceptible copies.

...In comments to a post about a hand jacking off the phrase "Big Fucking Deal"

The copyright message was a pleasant surprise, I must say. I know that if I spent the time to design a hand jacking off the phrase "Big Fucking Deal," I would want to make sure I was in full control of my legal rights.

As for "the best page in the universe," I must say I discovered it through Stumble Upon (damn you, Anne) but all in all, it reminds me of a not necessarily kinder, but certainly simpler, time for the World Wide Web. Back when Geocities ruled the Earth and before RSS feed aggregators. You know, the good old days, so to speak.
