Hi everyone! And welcome to my Kool-Aid® Blog.

Well, it's probably best to begin at the beginning. Now, you might think your old buddy grew up in a house just burstin' with those tantalizin' packets of powdered gold, but you'd be wrong.
As a child, I was always aware of Kool-Aid®, but seldom got to drink Kool-Aid® proper. I don't know whether it was because it was overpriced or you had to add sugar or what. You know how it is when you're a kid...for the most part, your parents pick what you get to eat and drink, and you more or less go along with it.
We did get other drink mixes, however...Funny Face was a big favorite. Maybe it was because it was pre-sweetened and available on the cheap. My brother and I even sent away for a couple of the mugs...I got Goofy Grape and my brother got "With It" Watermelon.

And there was always the generic Pantry Pride drink mix. Ah, Pantry Pride...a long-defunct East Coast supermarket chain that I could start a whole other blog on...

And Hawaiian Punch®...boy, we drank our share of that, too. It's been ages since Punchy has pummeled me with his fruit-juicy fist.

So, yeah, I drank a lot of soft-drinkity drinks in my day, but they were mostly non-Kool-Aid®. I'm sure I had it at birthday parties and such, but it was never a staple in my house. No, sir, I didn't really get in on the Kool-Aid® boom 'til '93 or '94...but that's a blog entry for another day.

What about Juicy Juice? I think kids today need to appreciate that we drank sugared "juices" out of giant CANS without that cute pansy convienence of juiceBOXES.
