I'm thinking of buying a little water pipe to smoke regular tobacco out of as another unnecessary delay tactic in weening myself off nicotine. But I think that might be entirely too ridiculous...

Don't really remember.

The only bong of note was made out of old vacuum cleaner parts. I didn't function for hours after my experience with that contraption.

Good times.

It was called a "bing," I think. It was basically a simple glass hookhah filled with ice water, with a bowl that could be lifted out for rapid intake of chilled smoke. It wasn't all that interesting design wise, but it was probably one of the most efficient, most pleasant ways to smoke. That was the one that gave me my one and only pot hallucination: waves rippling across my friend's ceiling, in time to the upstairs neighbors playing Bowie.
