Why don't punks talk about Obama?

From the early days of punk, there has always been a backlash against Republicans - well deserved, mind you. Hundreds of punk songs have been written to destroy that greedy, fascist impulse...and now it looks like, perhaps, our work is done. A liberal, well-educated, socially conscious, populist African-American seems poised to win the Presidency of the USA. Do punks like him? Hate him? Is he the Messiah of Christianity, or their anti-Christ? Just another politician? Let me know what you're thinking...

From the looks of this forum someone might respond by Christmas of '09.

The Market Will Take Care of Us All

A laissez-faire economic system without major fiscal interference from Government is clearly the best system for the promotion of wealth and prosperity.

Where competition is allowed to thrive, monopolies can never persist, and the demands of consumers will soon modulate the desires of producers, creating balance without requiring any regulation or support from government agencies.

It's a wonder people didn't think of this earlier. It's so rational.

Is John McCain more than meets the eye?

I'm back at my old job, calling people to get them to do surveys about politics and comsumer stuff.

Today I was working on a survey about the election and accidentally asked if John McCain is a Transformer.

I think he's Voltron.

Bush/Cheney Blunder #0098765

Pakistan Vows Action Against US Raids
By Stephen Graham, AP

The orders, which come in response to a highly unusual Sept. 3 ground attack by U.S. commandos, are certain to heighten tensions between Washington and a key ally against terrorism. Although the ground attack was rare, there have been repeated reports of U.S. drone aircraft striking militant targets, most recently on Sept. 12.

Pakistani officials warn that stepped-up cross-border raids will accomplish little while fueling violent religious extremism in nuclear-armed Pakistan. Some complain that the country is a scapegoat for the failure to stabilize Afghanistan.
