by x-.socially...i... | 10/01/2007

ok so the survey question is.......

are people who shop at hot topic all goth?

GOD I HATE WHEN PEOPLE THINK THAT!!@!!

some bitch at my church said that and wouldn't shut up so I blew up in her face ignoring the fact that everyone in my sunday school was watching and that the sunday school teacher was telling me to stop.

man that pisses me off

It's reassuring to know that Hot Topic has been keeping its staple, bondage clown pants in stores since 96 or 97 or so.

Nothing in fashion says "I'm angry" more than tripping over your own pants.

i dont know about you but the Hot Topic stores with in my vicinity are weak. It is difficult to find any merch or music for any bands smalller than Flogging Molly. Most of the clothing is overpriced and seems to be more directed at teenie-boppers or something. It just seems more glitzy than goth to me. So, in a way I agree because there is alot more than goths that shop at the Hot Topic's by me. But im sad to agree because I would rather it be that crowd over the plastic pop punk crowd i have witnessed.

Those bullshit baggy bondage trousers did not exist in 1996, did they? I remember all the goth boys were wearing skirts and punks were wearing petal pushers during those heady halcyon days of my youth... God, those things are an abomination.

The last time I was in a Hot Topic it was probably 1997 when I was 17, and they had those things.

Granted, yes, that was when they played Skinny Puppy (as opposed, what, My Chemical Romance?) and the employees wore patent leather and black lipstick.

I believe I went with a friend who wore skirts and black lipstick and was looking for a Switchblade Symphony t-shirt. I haven't kept in touch with the dude, but he has a blog and now he likes jam bands, camping out in Mexican deserts and, surprisingly, I think he's practically married now or is or something.

Christ, come to think of it, I was having a shitty time hating everything even back then too.

to be a mall punk these days. What the fuck is this world coming to, when you can't even shop at the Gap of punk rock without being mislabeled in church? You should totally pierce your tongue, say extreme things, and drink Mountain Dew to get back at them. Take that, conformists!
